Ans.

‘Bangabhasha Prakashika Sabha’:- Bengal was most affected by western education and culture.  The credit for starting the political movement in Bengal goes to Rajaram Mohan Roy.  It was he who drew the attention of the British rulers to the various grievances of the Indians.  After his death, his follower Gaurishankar Tarkabagis founded the Bangabhasha Prakashika Sabha in 1836.  This institution is considered to be the first political organization in Bengal.  The purpose of this meeting was to review government activities and send applications for their improvement.  The Bangabhasha Prakashika Sabha is considered a milestone in the path of development of political institutions in India.  This organization tried to unite the Bengalis politically and by removing the malaise within them, organized them against the British government.  Gradually the number of members of this organization started increasing and its branches were opened in different districts of Bengal.  These branches propagated the feeling of nationalism and patriotism among the people and made the general public aware of the policies of the British government.
