Ans.

Ganga Kishore Bhattacharya’s contribution to the development of the Bengal Press – Ganga Kishore Bhattacharya was an Indian editor and printer.  He was the pioneer of the Bengali press and journalism.  He began his career as a musician at the Shrirampur Mission Press, later moving to Calcutta, where he first worked at Ferris & Company Press before founding the Bengali Printing Press with his business partner Harchandra Roy.  After setting up a press, he started his own business exclusively for publishing and selling Bengali books.  He wrote a lot in Samachar Darpan of Shrirampur.  He published Gangabhakti Ragini, Lakshmicharitra, Baital, Panch Vishwavi, Chanakya Shloka, etc. from Bengal Press.  In addition to establishing the Bengali book business, Bhattacharya established the first Indian-made newspaper in 1816.
