Ans.

Role of Hutom Penchar in Bengali satirical literature:- Hutom Penchar Naksha or Naksha of the owl was satirical prose literature written by Kali Prasanna Singha.  This book is 140 pages.  In this book, religious pompous festivals prevailing in the society of that time, traditions like priesthood, Babu, and Saheb have been made fun of.  In the Hutom Pechar map, the use of ‘running language’ i.e. the language of speech is also seen in abundance.

Hutom Pechar Nakshatra is the most popular book in the prose literature of nineteenth-century Bengal.  Several later authors imitated this book.  The meaning of the map is to give the form of words to the satirical pictures in this book.  Kaliprasanna Singha has done the work of putting into words the anarchy prevailing in the society of that time and the change after the arrival of western culture in Bengali society.
