Examples of actions done by man in polluting the environment –

(i) Excessive use of fossil fuels is destroying the air quality.  The excessive use of these fuels is increasing the number of various greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, sulfur dioxide, chloro-fluoro carbon, etc., due to which the problem of global warming has arisen.

(ii) Excessive use of inorganic chemical fertilizers is destroying the soil quality as well as causing eutrophication.

(iii) Man is cutting forests for his selfishness.  Due to excessive deforestation, and restation, the environment is also getting, polluted and the balance of the ecosystem is also deteriorating.
